We use GiveSmart for online donations, fundraising campaigns, and fundraising events. We needed a software that allowed us to engage our current donor base and enable fans of our organization to crowd-fund for us. GiveSmart has diverse features that allow us to communicate with and engage with our donor base in several helpful ways. The event side helped us save money on printing tickets for our biggest fundraising event, and it was straightforward to set up raffles, silent auctions, instant sale items, and more. The platforms make tracking donations, votes, tickets, etc., easy and provide attractive web pages for crowd-funding events.
  • Customer support.
  • Ease of use.
  • Text to give.
  • Help turn one time donors to recurring donors.
  • GiveSmart Events and GiveSmart Fundraise don't fully integrate, and their processing of merchant fees is different.
  • We would love for there to be integration with Venmo to give.
  • The functionality of different crowdfunding options is a little hard to understand. For example, setup and customization for teams is different from individual funding.
  • For our organization, the ability to set up ticketed events for our crowdfunding teams/individuals on the event page was limited compared to the ability to set them up as keywords in the fundraising platform.
Having access to the unique setup with our package was super helpful. This service pairs you with a GiveSmart professional who helps walk you through the setup for your campaign. Our professionalism was a huge help to our team in troubleshooting and configuration, and it helped us think through creative ways to make our fundraisers more effective and efficient.

We opted for GiveSmart when we were combining to have one event/content management system. The GiveSmart event platform (and auction feature) has worked well for us for many years. We now have fundraising and our donor database through GiveSmart as well. While it has taken some time, the integration is becoming much more smooth and over time will certainly make it easier for our nonprofit - with minimal staff to function efficiently.
  • Event - Auction Platform
  • Donor Thank You's
  • Search tools
  • Statement/Receipt email in events - would love the capability to email out receipts /auction donor thank you's en mass
  • Improving - but transferring event donations/tax deductible amount to donor database (delineate the tax deductible amount from tickets, purchases, etc)
  • I would like to have one customer support system for all three platforms - I feel like I get referred to other people frequently (events has the chat for help, others do not) so hesitant to reach out because I don't know if I am reaching out to the right person
As I get more familiar with the platform my opinion goes up. However, early on there were three distinct platforms that really did not connect - even logins popped up differently, and different support places. So it was not a smooth transition for us. It is getting better. I think the GiveSmart platform is wonderful for events - which is why we went with GiveSmart (until you have to send out statements/receipts which is not easy to do since you can't send via email en mass) And the others are catching up. So I think it would be a lot better starting out now. And hopefully the support for all three is more streamlined as well.

Our donor database was outdated and the functionality caused simple office tasks to take much longer than needed. So outdated that it would no longer receive updates or support. We needed a user-friendly, more advanced software to maintain our donor information for accurate record-keeping, fundraising, event management, and marketing. GiveSmart offers a comprehensive solution with its three modules: Fundraise, Events, and DonorCRM.
  • Clean, easy to navigate user interface
  • Modules for fundraising, events, and donor records that can speak to each other
  • Supportive team during the onboarding process
  • Well-reviewed by other nonprofits
  • The data transfer process has been very long and challenging
  • While the modules speak to each other in some ways, the integration is not complete yet
  • Translation to other languages is nearly impossible
GiveSmart is well suited for nonprofits with a budget to afford the yearly fee, which varies depending on the number of contacts in your database. It is appealing for charities who want to have their donor database, fundraising campaigns, and event management all within the same framework. Before now, we used WAY too many services and software to meet various needs.

We just signed a contract with GiveSmart in December. It was bumpy at first because there was a delay in getting started because of staff transitioning out of GiveSmart. So, we are still in the begining stages with getting our data converted. We will be using it for our donor management, events, and more!
  • Responsive team members
  • Clearly stated communication with detailed next steps
  • I think there should be a grace period of when the contract/payment actually starts since there is a great deal of back and forth communication before anything can even start with us using the system.
Not 100% sure at the moment, but will have a better answer in six months.

We have used GiveSmart for ticketing at our events, for silent auctions, and for fundraising. We selected the program because it could handle all of these functions. Previously, we had been using a number of programs to accomplish these tasks.
  • Silent Auction Management
  • Seamless credit card processing
  • Need option to link different bank accounts--currently only one can be used
  • Batch reporting--hard to match bank deposits to items paid
  • Navigation within the program is not user friendly
  • Auto response customization could be improved
It is definitely well suited to fundraising and the silent auction functionality is great. In my experience, the event side needs work to be more user friendly.

I use Givesmart as the main source of how our donors give to support our mission. We also use the fundraising platforms for in-person events and virtual campaigns. This allows our organization to raise the necessary funds to operate how we care for orphaned and vulnerable children in Honduras.
  • user friendly platform
  • Ability to create professional looking landing pages
  • Easily track and manage donations for particular purposes.
  • Adding the ability to make notes on a donor's profile.
  • Allowing text messages to be a bit longer
  • Allow the dashboard to be more customizable
GiveSmart works great as a fundraising platform. Making everything very simple to use and allows our workers to save time actually talking with donors and pointing them to the things we have created.

We use GiveSmart to create event pages and GiveSmart Fundraise to create select campaign donation forms. One of our largest fundraising events requires a user-friendly peer-to-peer platform and GiveSmart worked well for this. The home page was easy to design and received well by our audience.
  • Easy to create and design an event website.
  • Easy to create multiple campaigns at once.
  • Donation forms are straight forward.
  • Integrate the peer-to-peer functionality better into the event page home page.
GiveSmart has been a great choice for our organization and has allowed us to combine campaigns in ways we haven't been able to do so before. We have enjoyed the peer-to-peer capabilities as well as the donation forms, and the website is user-friendly and easy to navigate. So far we have successfully run several campaigns through the platform and have been satisfied with our experience.

Givesmart has been used as a primary online fundraising tool. We create personalized donation landing pages for donors from different companies and accept online credit card donations. We also use Givesmart to collect pledges from donors and transfer them to our internal database.
  • Flexible and extensive form creation allows for complex logic of fields on the forms
  • Relatively low transaction fees
  • Responsive customer support
  • Inability to map complex forms to sync automatically with Salesforce
  • Unintuitive reporting tool
Givesmart can fit companies that don't require extensive data collection at the stage of donation, but want to maintain automatic transfer of data to the database. If the organization needs to create complex forms and collect multiple layers of data, automatic transfer of data may not be possible.

We use GiveSmart as our main fundraising software. Fundraising plays a crucial role in supporting the operations and mission of nonprofit organizations.
  • The platform itself is incredibly user-friendly.
  • It facilitates seamless transitions.
  • It provides comprehensive reporting and analytics.
  • I would like a little more functionality with the fundraising thermometer.
Based on its features and capabilities, GiveSmart is well-suited for charity galas and auctions, virtual fundraising events, and peer-to-peer fundraising. It may be less appropriate for small-scale or informal fundraising, for nonprofits with limited tech infrastructure, or nonprofits with specific customization needs.

We oversee a high-end event with over a million dollars in transactions and GiveSmart has consistently helped us manage with minimal issues.
  • Highly organized
  • User friendly website
  • Creative
  • Updating the site’s graphics to look more modern
  • Limited number of site background images
  • As a backup, would like a Save button so I’m assured the edits were received
Overall, GiveSmart is user-friendly and worth the investment when the event needs all aspects to the program.

We use GiveSmart for the fundraising needs of our nonprofit. We needed a way to make it easier for donors to give to us electronically and to manage recurring sponsors and donors. We also needed help learning how to fundraise and create and foster relationships with those interested in our ministry or currently giving.
  • Customizable donation forms
  • Quick payment processing
  • Large learning center and numerous webinars
  • More ways to accept payments (ACH, Venmo)
  • Integrations with their CRM, QuickBooks
  • Donor portals for donors to be able to change donation dates, contact information, and donation amounts on their own
  • Better tech support
  • Better customer support from sales rep
The company seems slow to progress with any changes customers ask for. I feel the lack of concern and contact I have had with the company has really left a bad impression on our organization. I contacted our sales rep a couple of years ago with a need, only to find out she had moved to a different position months prior, and we had a new contact. There was never any contact with us to let us know, in my experience, there was never an introduction with the new rep. I have never been able to get ahold of our new rep on the phone, nor has she ever responded to the voicemails I left. I only will get responses by email. We have never had any contact outside of contract renewal time to see if everything is ok, check to see if new features might apply to us. I never get any contact from the company as to new features, or what is happening, all I get are emails about webinars. When I raised concerns we had over a year ago in regards to functionality and things our donors were asking about, in my experience, there was no conversation about if they might implement these needs, if there was a workaround, or if they even took our thoughts as important. In my experience, when they were merging from Mobile Cause to GiveSmart, I kept waiting and being told they were going to have a CRM, which they knew was a HUGE need for us. Months of waiting later, I learn that, in fact, the CRM will not be part of what we have, but a stand-alone product and won't even integrate together. I just constantly shake my head at this company.

The plus side is they make everything very customizable for you, and you are able to make donation pages, events, etc., look, feel, and act like you want them to. In my opinion, that is also the downside. There are a million different places where you have to add text, choose colors, etc. It requires a full-time position to do it all. I am a one-person fundraising team with a full-time job elsewhere. I don't have the time to learn everything. It is just too much for a small organization.

We have been using MobileCause for many years but they merged with GiveSmart about a year ago. The look and feel is still MobileCause so the transition for us was pretty seamless. We use GiveSmart/MobileCause to accept and process online donations for our organization. Potential donors visit our website, click on the "Donate" button and are taken to a web page where they can enter their donation/payment information. We process monthly recurring donations and one-time tributes via this page as well. We will periodically change the form or create a new one to match a solicitation we are sending. We've even themed the form to match an event like a golf tournament or gala.
  • Allows for the donor to easily include the credit card processing fees in their donation.
  • Easy for the donor to enter their information and process their gift quickly.
  • Easy to export information from GiveSmart/MobileCause.
  • When selecting fields for exporting, it would be nice to see the form name attached to the field name. We have multiple forms and some of the field names are the same/similar from form to form. It's almost impossible to tell which field belongs to which form.
  • Since GiveSmart merged with MobileCause, we are having difficulties paying our quarterly fee via credit card. We have signed up for this process a few times but still have issues getting our payments properly (and timely) processed like we did before the merge. (Our payments were automatically processed with MobileCause but it's been difficult, almost impossible, to get this process set-up with GiveSmart, even though they now offer it.)
  • Hearing from our account rep every now and then would be nice.
I can only speak to the MobileCause side, which worked great. Since the merge, things have continued to function well like before, but I noticed the admin side of things (billing, help, etc.) from GiveSmart could be handled better.

I think that they are great for online donation forms, event sign-up forms, and survey forms. They are pretty easy to create and maintain.

We were not very pleased with this platform. Our customer service was greatly lacking, and the platform had multiple glitches and the functionality wasn't up to par with what we were promised. However, the bones of this platform seem great! I think with better customer service and more functional and adaptive platform this could be great.
  • Silent Auction
  • Use of QR codes
  • Customer Service
  • Functionality
Well suited for non-profits, however it's less appropriate as an all-encompassing platform. I would definitely suggest it for silent auction management.

Givesmart makes our job so much easier! We are able to set up events with silent auction, raffle, tickets sales and more. Everything is streamlined and we can analyze data much faster. For recurring events, we are able to duplicate the campaign which saves time and money. Having everything at our fingertips, in one place makes for an efficient event and appeal process. We love Givesmart!
  • All the information is in one place and easy to find
  • Set up is streamlined and easy to do
  • Reports are easy to access and very complete
  • silent auction is easy to set up and looks good, sell sheets at the touch of a button
  • The accounting during and after an event is difficult. The way the deposits are made in your account if you have multiple events at the same time makes it so much work.
  • Adding a volunteer (dummy) account can be difficult but once you learn how, it is easy
  • Customer support is sometimes not up to speed, I find I know more than they do often
Events are awesome and perfect for Givesmart. Appeals are perfect for Fundraise.

We have three minimum large fundraising events a year and have used give smart for two. We use all of the bits and pieces for event registration, silent auction and raffle, individual fundraiser profiles, donations, text communication, etc. Like most event registration companies today, givesmart does not provide staff for event registration - but they do have recommendations for companies, one in particular I have enjoyed working with is GOAT (who is an event solutions company) as they really know the system well for event day. Another bummer we have found with givesmart is though the text ad email capabilities with patrons is amazing, their "sending templates" are limited and you cannot include images in the body of your email. These limitations force our company to use other sending platforms like mailchimp.
  • Training - they have a great training in place to get familiar with the system
  • The registration and event site are very user friendly
  • Ability to build an event site that is on brand with your event
  • Reporting - Our Data manager has to pull multiple reports to transfer intoo our CRM, versus being able to do one large report
  • You can't do "multi-raffle" discounts across multiple items - it all must be listed in one item box
  • Emailing recipients - would like more variety than offered. When saying "ticket holders" you have to send multiple depending on the ticket they hold (ex. different sponsorship levels etc)
Compared to other event platforms, this one has a lot more capability and is very user friendly on the patron side - I hope they continue to develop their backend of things for reports/tracking. They are by far the best platform when it comes to texting and emailing capabilities, meaning they have the least amount of limitations - giving your guests a better experience.

We use Givesmart to host our annual fundraising dinner that includes a silent auction. The platform gives us the ability to house all of the ticket sales and auction items in one location.
  • Ease of silent auction bidding.
  • Ticket sales for individuals.
  • Sponsorship ticketing.
  • Live auction functionality.
  • Ability to credit sponsorships to an organization rather than a particular person
  • Ability for users to check themselves out of an auction.

We used GiveSmart to run an online Silent Auction for our Parish Picnic in September of 2022, as well as a raffle to support the same picnic.
  • Intuitive platform.
  • Sleek design.
  • Ease of adding items and descriptions.
  • Packaging items to be sold in groups.
  • Ways to sample an event without publishing so you can find flaws before an auction is live.
  • More explanation about the relationship with their new MobileCause partnership.
We found it easy to use with great analytics. I have used it as a bidder and now as an administrator. I would highly recommend the product to anyone needing to run an auction.

  • Item / Package Maintenance.
  • User / Donor Management.
  • A portal for prospective donors / outgoing solicitations.

I use GiveSmart for our Arbor Day of Giving campaign, which is different than Giving Tuesday. Instead of Giving Tuesday, our day of giving is Arbor Day.
  • User Friendly
  • Chat feature works really well-very helpful and efficient
  • Customer service reps are always willing to help and train

We use GiveSmart for live auction, silent auctions, and mission appeals at our golf tournament and galas. At this year's gala, we tried to centralize all of our revenue on the GiveSmart site, so that our guests could access all our content and merchandise on the sidebar of the presentation stream. Since we utilize it exclusively for fundraising, the development team is much more familiar with GiveSmart than the programs team and executives. It makes giving more accessible and helps capture more of the interest in our silent auction items.
  • Simplicity. GiveSmart brings the event to our guests, and I struggle to imagine how we could make it easier for them.
  • Reporting. You can break your revenue down by many parameters.
  • Customizability. We found ourselves able to include a virtual version of most elements of our gala, including the written program.
  • The site is largely customizable, but that reaches its limit in the html/CSS. Your whole site will pull from a style sheet housed elsewhere, and while my html abilities are limited, I suspect that the user cannot override the stylesheet.
  • We asked for a vanity link to some of our sub-pages, but the way GiveSmart works, it generates a unique link for each user so that they can click and be already logged in. So users cannot really generate a print-friendly link to the stream page or the auction page. That became an issue when we wanted to include a hyperlink to our stream on menus included in our deliveries. We opted to include the home page and link from the homepage to the stream, which worked fine.
  • The user cannot edit the tabs along the top of the site.
GiveSmart is good for events over one hundred people at which you expect guests to donate throughout their time there. For us, that includes galas and golf tournaments. These events have multiple revenue streams; GiveSmart grants the opportunity to browse all those ways to give in one place.

We do not utilize GiveSmart for our Walks, which are peer-to-peer affairs. GiveSmart is beginning to create the capacity for peer-to-peer fundraising within its campaigns, but our walk process involves so much management and so many teams that we need a platform that can more seamlessly accommodate all of those in a broader fashion.

We are using it to fundraise for our political organization. We plan to have a marque event every year. It's used by a handful of people in my organization. Since Covid became an issue with in-person fundraising we decided to move to a virtual platform. It was very successful for our first attempt.
  • Training was excellent. On demand as well as weekly lessons.
  • Very easy to get in touch with the company for questions.
  • Very Easy to use.
  • Easy Instructions.
  • Intuitive for non technical people to figure out.
  • Uploaded pictures were easy but, figuring out the right format for those pictures was not.
  • When to close out the auction needs better explanation.
  • More choices in designing our brand.
Great for virtual events. Easy to share on social media. Easy to set admin privileges. I would not use it for peer to a peer unless you have a large following already. The flat rate was very attractive for our small organization. The reports were amazing. The reports gave us very useful information that we will refer to for our next event.

We use this platform for event-related fundraising: ticketing, invoicing, raffle, and silent auction features.
  • Creating the tickets is very easy
  • The platform works for both virtual and in-person events
  • The silent auction is easy to set up
  • Text and mobile features are nice for communicating with guests
  • I can't always reach someone immediately for service and have had to leave a message and wait for a callback
  • My personal account rep often takes several days to respond to emails
  • The display page has limited design options in format, font, text size, color, etc.
  • An attendee cannot order themselves if they want to pay by check. An organization should be able to decide if they want to take the risk instead of only allowing the administrator to purchase by check. If our users could choose a check option and we could verify receipt of the check, this would be much better for us.
I recommended it to another small nonprofit and they felt for the price they didn't have enough event support to use the display tools as well as they wanted. I agree it's costly to have an event rep, and right now they won't even come in person. By the time you have a dedicated rep involved you have done 90% of the work yourself and checked in with your general rep. We agreed the support feels lacking - makes it hard to recommend again.

  • Easy to set-up for the auction
  • Easy to use for users

  • Better way to merge items uploaded that later want to package together
  • Better instruction on when promoting multiple of an item to separate those on the screen from those auction items. Such as gift cards or wine pulls
